Cultivating Changemakers for a Healthier Future

How to Get Involved
Explore the many ways you can stay engaged with HCC—whether by volunteering, hosting interns, referring future health leaders, or making a donation. Every action you take helps us continue empowering the next generation of health professionals and strengthening our nationwide alumni community.
- Serve and Lead as a Volunteer: The HCC alumni community thrives because of passionate alumni who give back. Whether you can offer one hour or one hundred, your involvement makes a real difference. Volunteers can read applications, lead workshops, plan events, or assist with projects like data reporting.Looking for deeper engagement? Join the National Alumni Association Board, help launch local alumni chapters, or serve as a Regional Liaison to connect alumni and amplify HCC’s mission in your area. Your leadership helps shape the future of HCC and our growing alumni network.
- Refer a Friend: Know someone who would benefit from HCC’s programs? Refer them to us! You can also introduce professionals or organizations interested in mentoring, hosting interns, or partnering with HCC. Simply reach out at partner@healthcareers.org
to help expand our community of supporters. - Host an Intern: Hosting an HCC intern is one of the most rewarding ways to invest in the next generation of health leaders. Mid- to senior-level alumni can serve as preceptors, while early-career alumni can encourage their employers to host. Not in a position to host? You can still make an impact by referring organizations in your network to partner with us.
- Partner with HCC: Collaboration is key to HCC’s success. By partnering with organizations that share our mission, we create meaningful pathways for students and alumni while driving health workforce development. Together, we can build a stronger, more equitable health future.
- Donate and Fundraise: Your generosity fuels our mission. Donations of any size help HCC expand access, training, and mentorship for aspiring health leaders. You can also multiply your impact by fundraising within your community or organization. Every contribution keeps the HCC spirit of gratitude and giving alive.
"That [HCC] internship experience really helped to crystalize my interest in working to solve big problems within healthcare and public health nationally."
Nicole Cooper, Chief External Affairs and Transformation Officer, United Way NCA"HCC saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. They took a shy graduate of the University of Michigan and turned me into a confident professional...I was placed at Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center and I was in the room with decision makers. I led projects and I caught a glimpse of what I would be doing as a public health professional".
