Innovation to Meet Workforce Demands

We are dedicated to building a sustainable and highly skilled workforce that meets the health needs and reflects the communities they serve. By tailoring solutions to regional needs, we ensure that communities are equipped with the talent and resources necessary to meet the demands of an evolving health industry landscape.

National

HCC drives national impact through strategic initiatives that strengthen the health workforce. Partnering with the de Beaumont Foundation and the National Consortium for Public Health Workforce Development, HCC led efforts to design and implement bold recruitment and retention strategies that grow a community-rooted workforce reflective of the populations it serves. HCC is also a founding member of the National Alliance for Public Health Pathway Programs, reinforcing its leadership in expanding access to health career pathways nationwide.

California

In California, HCC shapes workforce strategies to build a health workforce reflective of local communities. As Co-Director of the Future Health Workforce Commission and leader of the California Health Professions Consortium, HCC drives statewide planning, policy, and partnerships to address shortages and expand health career pathways.

Regional

HCC leads Regional Health Workforce Initiatives across California, aligning local innovation with statewide goals. With support from The California Endowment, we provide grants, guidance, and capacity-building to help regions design community-rooted solutions.

The Health Workforce Innovation Network (Health WIN) is an initiative led by Health Career Connection to address critical workforce challenges in California’s health sector. Health WIN brings together regional stakeholders, policymakers, and community leaders to develop innovative, equity-driven solutions tailored to local workforce needs. Health WIN fosters collaboration and alignment with statewide initiatives. Together, we are building resilient, inclusive workforce ecosystems equipped to meet the evolving demands of the health sector.

California Health Professionals Consortium

The California Health Professions Consortium (CHPC) is a statewide coalition dedicated to advancing health equity by fostering a diverse and inclusive health workforce. Comprised of stakeholders from across the health, education, and workforce sectors, CHPC promotes collaboration and innovation to address critical workforce challenges. With representation from community-based organizations, academic institutions, employers, and policymakers, CHPC works to create opportunities for underrepresented populations in health professions and to strengthen the capacity of California’s health workforce to meet the needs of its diverse communities.
